Census Bureau Opens Jobs Line for the 2010 Census
The Census bureau has launched a critical national effort for every person in our nation to "Be Counted" in the 2010 Census that will affect the apportionment of congressional seats, and how the federal government annually allocates $300 billion in federal assistance to communities. Operations have already begun and the Census Bureau needs to recruit hundreds of workers in the area to ensure a complete and accurate count in 2010. Call the 2010 Census job line (866) 861-2010 to schedule a basic employment test.
Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC)
Age 3 to Grade 5 (must be 3 years old as of Sept. 1, 2010). The ECDC is located at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. ECDC offers developmentally appropriate instruction, dual-language communication, individualized assessment, and health and other support services. Application deadline: April 5, 2010. For more information on the ECDC lottery process, call 886-9162. Applications may be returned in person to 801 Leopard Street during regular office hours (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.).

Reminder: Campus Visitors
For the safety of our students and staff, all visitors must go by the front office and obtain a visitor's pass/badge to wear while on campus.
Attendance Procedure Change: District policy has changed. A student present at the time of attendance but who is absent for more than 15 minutes (tardy or picked up early) is counted as a partial day absence and ineligible for perfect attendance (except medical appts. with a doctor's note).
Breakfast at Dawson
Breakfast is provided to students from 8:00 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. Students are encouraged to come to school on time to eat breakfast served right in their classrooms. all students eat FREE regardless of eligibility status. Research shows several positive effects when students eat breakfast from improved attendance to improving their overall nutrition. We encourage all students to take advantage of eating a nutritious breakfast right before starting their day of learning.

Thursday - Assorted yogurt and breakfast bar or Crunchmania

Paying for Lunch Goes On-Line
Parents now have the option of paying for their students lunch on line. Parents can log on to the My Lunch Money web site, create, and manage the personal accounts of their children. for further information please visit:
